Jack M. Firestone, CFP^®

Jack M. Firestone, CFP^® is president and principal of Firestone Capital Management, Inc. He specializes in investment and retirement planning and asset management for entrepreneurs, owners of closely held businesses and other professionals.

Before opening his own practice, Mr. Firestone spent five years as a partner of Evensky & Brown Financial Advisors. He earned his MBA at the University of Miami and his BA at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He has held the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM designation since 1988.

He is active professionally as a member of the Financial Planning Association and has been a participant in the Schwab AdvisorSource program. Mr. Firestone has served as chief executive officer of several public organizations including the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra, the Florida Philharmonic and PACE Concerts.

Active in cultural affairs, he serves as an officer of Friends of Chamber Music and is a founding board member of Miami Music Project. He has served on the Board of Governors and the Artistic Advisory and Marketing Committees of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, and has served as a board member of City Theatre and the Coconut Grove Association. He has been a national board member of the American Symphony Orchestra League and a founding vice president of the National Committee for Symphony Orchestra Support.

Carol G. Kaufman, CFP^®

Carol G. Kaufman, CFP^® is vice president and principal of Firestone Capital Management, Inc. She specializes in wealth management for high net worth families. She joined Firestone Capital Management in 1996.

After earning her undergraduate degree in finance with high honors at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1978, she began her career as a commercial credit analyst and a commercial lending officer for the Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New York City. Her clientele consisted of closely held businesses and professional corporations. She returned to the academic world several years later and earned her MBA with a concentration in accounting at Syracuse University in New York.

While taking a career break to focus on raising three daughters, she enrolled in the University of Miami's program for personal financial planning. She became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM licensee in 1996.

Carol is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the National Council of Jewish Women.

Carlos A. Carbonell, CFA

Carlos A. Carbonell, CFA is an investment advisor and principal at Firestone Capital Management, Inc. He specializes in managing financial plans and concentrates his research on client portfolios, investment strategies, and financial markets. He is a member of the CFA Institute, and is affiliated with the local CFA Miami Society.

Carlos graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Economics, and began his career in investments with Transamerica Asset Management in Los Angeles. Focusing primarily on high net worth families, pensions, and retirement accounts, he transitioned back to Miami as a financial advisor where he expanded his practice at UBS PaineWebber and later Prudential/Wachovia Securities.

His social and civic involvements have included Fairchild Tropical Garden, the Miami Marine Council, Ransom Everglades Alumni Board, the Historical Museum of South Florida, and C.R.E.W. Miami. He has served as a Palms board member and a Fellows donor, and as Treasurer for the Northwestern University Club of S. Florida.

Anthony E. Poppe, CFA, CFP^®

Anthony E. Poppe, CFA, CFP^® joined Firestone Capital Management in August of 2008 as an investment advisor. He specializes in investment research, portfolio asset allocation, and financial market analysis. He is a CFA Charterholder and is affiliated with the CFA Miami Society. He became licensed as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM in 2010.

Anthony graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Economics, and received his M.S. in International Financial Management from the University of Groningen in Holland via a joint program with the University of Florida. Prior to joining Firestone Capital Management, Anthony worked for Aon Risk Services as a commercial insurance broker.

Anthony is a member of the Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce, a 2008 graduate of Leadership Miami, and has served on an advisory board for the Education Fund.

Louise G. Owen

Louise G. Owen is the most recent addition to the Firestone Capital Management team, joining the firm in January 2011 as Operations Manager. A newcomer to Florida, she spent nine years at Conlon Dart, a prominent investment management practice in Seattle. She has held the REGISTERED PARAPLANNER^TM designation since 2005.

Louise graduated cum laude from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and worked in professional theatre for several years before returning to school to study finance, international business and computer technology. A native of Washington state, she has volunteered with a variety of artistic, educational, environmental and social organizations.
